- How the hierarchy is used n
Your Taskr hierarchy is a logical representation of how your businessu2019 workspaces are grouped and how they relate to each other.
nA workspace is a generic term for store, shop, branch, venue, or any other term your may use for a location.
nIn this video we will use the term store.
nLets get you startedu2026
nnHow to configure your Hierarchy
nClick on the settings menu and select Hierarchy.
nIn the Hierarchy screen you can configure your hierarchy levels as well as your stores.
nWhen you create a new hierarchy node you will be asked if this is a container or a store.
nA container can contain stores as well as other containers.u00a0 A store cannot contain other containers or stores.
nLets have a look at an example:
nThe top level of your business is the corporate headquarter, HQ.
nThe next level down is a logical grouping of your overall business, this can be business types, like supermarkets, department stores, electronics or something else like a geographical grouping.u00a0 In this case we are using a geographical using but remember it can be anything.
nLets go ahead a create 3 geographical areas called State 1, State 2, and State 3.
nNow that we have set up 3 states, we can subdivide each state if we need to.u00a0 In this case we only need to subdivide State 1 in a North and a South area.
nnWe are now ready to add our stores.u00a0 Letu2019s go ahead and create a store in the South area in State 1.
nnThis is how simple it is to create a store.u00a0 Now letu2019s create the other stores we need.
nnWhen a store is first created it is always inactive.u00a0 You must activate a store before your store staff members can access the tasks for the store. Simply go to settings menu and select store. In the list of stores click on the inactive button and change it to active for all the stores you want to activate.
n
TIP: You can set up as many hierarchy levels you want, but be careful, the more levels you have the more complex it is to maintain, so keep it as simple as possible.
How is the Hierarchy used.
nNow letu2019s look at how and where the hierarchy is used in Taskr.u00a0
nBased on where a user is allocated in the hierarchy will determine what the data the user can see.
nIn our example, a user allocated on the HQ level can see all data whereas a user only allocated to a store can only see the data for that store.
nA user can be allocated to multiple stores however, to complete tasks at a particular store the user must select the store in the location selector.
nThis will then give the user access to all the tasks in that store.
nThe hierarchy is also used on the reports and enable the user to easily select the specific stores should be included on a report.
n
You are now ready to complete the configuration of your hierarchy. It is really that simple.
At any point you can update the hierarchy structure, and you can add new stores.
